Get to Know Rod
Rod leads the ExecutiveEdge team, focusing on compensation and benefit planning for corporate leaders, as well as investment advisement, survivorship planning and personal income tax planning. He provides individual financial advice and counseling and corporate benefits consulting. Rod has provided financial advisory services to individuals for more than 27 years. Rod is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Financial PlannerTM professional and Personal Financial Specialist. Rod is a member of the Financial Planning Association and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He joined Valley National in 2008. Rod is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University and a graduate of Leadership Lehigh Valley in 2012. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Northeast Ministries, Bethlehem, PA, and past board member of Presbyterian Homes, Inc., Camp Hill, PA.
Rod is a Bethlehem native and has always treasured our local community in the Lehigh Valley. He has 27 years of experience and at one time worked for one of the largest accounting firms in the world. He found a fit with Valley National Financial Advisors in 2008 because he says the firm aligns with his own philosophy about relationships and communication. “I spend the time getting to know each individual, and I think people can trust me because what you see is what you get” says Rod.
Rod leads the ExecutiveEdgeTM team, focusing on compensation and benefit planning for corporate leaders, as well as investment advisement, survivorship planning and personal income tax planning. “I love being an expert,” he says. “Some things are so complex and I like to give an easy answer for people based on my experience.”
Besides continuing to hone his expertise, Rod wants to have an impact on the community. “I want to continue to educate younger generations and give back,” he says. Rod describes this mission as moving from “success to significance.” His volunteer work with Northeast Ministries in Bethlehem goes back to his teen years when his mother co-founded the organization. An avid runner and cyclist, Rod has completed a number of marathons and recently rode 100 miles as part of a charity fundraiser. His true passion for the outdoors is backpacking and mountain climbing. Rod is an “Adirondack 46er” and has summited many notable peaks including Mount Rainier and Mount Whitney, the highest summit in the contiguous United States.
